Tip the Wink 
The temporary retirement of summer clothing is a pity.
Have never done that, Todd.
Nor I, but my summer clothes rather exactly resemble my winter, only without coats and hats for outdoors….
Yep, I lived in SoCal most of my life, where Winter clothes meant a sweater.
I just told Jackie it was time to put away the white pants.

My main complaint is the days are getting shorter – it is not yet light when I get up in the morning.
That means you get up too early! I’m an 8:00 guy.
These days I am an early to bed (11:00), early to rise (6:00 or so) guy. Maybe 6:30 or 7:00 at the latest. In my younger days 8:40.
It’s still Summer in Western NY. Temps are in the 70s, plenty of sunshine. But, the kids go back to school today. I could hear the school buses driving up and down my street. And, the Pittsburgh Steelers are coming to town this Sunday to take on the Buffalo Bills. That may be the best sign that Summer is winding down!
Yes, school started here today too. I’m not ready for football, not sure why, just don’t seem to care about sports, or much of anything.
In Santa Barbara it stays hot through most of September and October, usually. But this year the summer has been cooler and it is still relatively coolish. I have noticed mostly how it gets darker earlier in the evening and, as I have complained about before, the sun in my tiny back area is going away.
Still light at 7, but not at 9 as was a couple of months ago. When I worked I hated dark to work, dark to home.
The trouble with Michigan is that once November comes it is cloudy most days until April. The Great Lakes hold the cloud cover with a vise.
