We’ve had a lot of rain in the past week, with more expected every day for at least another. That’s good, we need it, and the snowpack that’s being dropped in the mountains, which provides the water in the Summer months. It’s sunny this morning, and beautiful, but the wind that accompanied that rain has stripped many of the leaves from the trees, so Fall color is diminished, but there is still some. Here’s the Coral Bark Maple:
I’ve been reading mostly short stories, though I don’t feel like I’ve made much progress. You can see in my upcoming Wednesday post. I’m getting ready to take a break and read a novel, though I don’t know which.
Meanwhile, here’s a photo of Pongo cheering for the Oregon Ducks in their Saturday win vs. Washington State.

How did you get a photo of Pongo in that position?
I am very envious of your rain. I wish we would get some rain here.
He does that pose when he wants something, usually food. It’s his begging pose. Darned cute, isn’t it? It’s raining here now.
We have had a lot of wind lately. That is a pretty leaf and a pretty kitty.
Yes, he’s a handsome boy, and growing fast. Seems it’s windy everywhere.
Yesterday’s wind storm here in Western NY blew all the leaves on the lawn away! Snow is in the forecast for tomorrow. Just a dusting. Patrick and Katie are staying at their cousin’s condo about 20 miles from here. They plan to join us for Thanksgiving after their quarantine is over.
As I mentioned below, we had the storm last night around 9:00. I’m just glad we weren’t out in it because for a short while, it was really bad. We did some of our Thanksgiving dinner shopping yesterday.
Windy everywhere. We’re getting lots of snow in the mountains, but the level is still up at 3,000 ft. We’re at 600, so none for us. Probably towards the end of the year.
Nice. I bet Pongo wasn’t celebrating the Seahawks yesterday.
We have been going through the same thing with rain and falling leaves for a couple of weeks, with the leaf blower guys out here repeatedly. Plenty of maple leaves everywhere. Last night we had a front come through with torrential rains and 50+ mph winds, with about fifteen minutes of almost hurricane-like conditions before it moved on. At least the cars look clean. We’re in for a cool few days.
No, sadly. Wilson can only do so much without a defense to back him up. That’s a lot of wind! It’ll be cool here too.
Win or lose, the Orange Ducks are lucky to have Pongo on their side.
If I can find a box big enough, I’ll package up some of our glorious weather and mail it to you, Rick. I do miss the change of seasons, though.
We have plenty of weather of our own, Jerry, and we like it rainy and cool, though not the wind so much.
Pongo definitely has his game face on. Great photo.
