Smokeageddon

The latest: due to the air quality:

  • no trash pickup
  • rain forecasted for tomorrow delayed until Friday, now with thunderstorms (so, lightning, which we really do not need)
  • many drive-thru windows closed, including at the pharmacy
  • library pick-up halted until further notice
  • stay off roads unless for work or emergency
  • do not water outdoors, save water for firefighting
  • routine roadwork cancelled
  • Were told not to vaccum our homes as it stirs up particulates
  • haven’t seen FedEx or UPS for days

And yes, it still looks like this outside:

We’ve had smoke here, too. Not as much as you, but it’s pretty bad everywhere on the West Coast. Hoping you stay safe!

  2. tracybham says:

That still looks so bad, Rick. I know it is difficult, but take care of yourselves as much as possible.

  3. Jeff Meyerson says:

Bad. It reminds me of driving over the Verrazano Bridge on the way to Newark Airport, Christmas Day 1986.

Good thing there’s no such thing as climate change, right?

  4. 1412064gk says:

Some of your smoke has reached Western New York. We have milky skies and lovely sunsets as a result. Hope you get some relief soon!

  5. We’re both congested and coughing, though we stay indoors as much as possible. Visibility slightly better, about a quarter mile, but fires still burning.

  6. Jerry House: if you’re ok, let us know!

  7. Todd Mason says:

Sorry, Rick. Particulate masks around the house…

  8. JohnnyMac says:

The no library pick up is the thing that really annoys me. On the other hand, my girl friend noted the “No vacuuming” instruction and said to me “Well, that is one thing we have covered!”
