HVAC: before and after

They finished about 4:00 pm yesterday, and everything is working fine. Here is the before and after, which doesn’t look that different, I guess, but new is good.

What may not be apparent is the Air Scrubber unit, the thing at the bottom with the foil around it. It’s an extra filtering unit at will clear the air of pollen, dust and animal dander. We haven’t had a lot of problems with that, but these days everything we can do to clean the air is good.

Along with the new furnace came the new A/C unit, which is huge.

I’ll say it’s huge. Mine is about 3 feet tall.

    • We were surprised. Looking inside, the top two feet or so seems empty, but is an “air chamber” for better breathing and air intake. The works of it are all in the bottom.

I thought they always were smaller but I guess not.

Nice, new, shiny! Looking good and, of course, new is good.

  4. Holy cow, that is huge! You could hollow that thing out and live in it.

That extra filtering unit sounds great. Allergies are a big problem around here (lots of pollen) and I have been allergic to dust all my life too.

  6. That is a bad-ass A/C condenser! And, I’m impressed by the extra filtering unit, too. We. have a big HEPA filter on our unit, but yours looks like an upgrade. Congratulations on stimulating the Economy!
