The first coronavirus death in the continental U.S. death happened today in Washington, north of Seattle.
The first case in Oregon was found yesterday, an elementary school teacher working in Lake Oswego. The school is now closed and everyone associated with it is in the process of being tested. That school is 6 miles from our house.
Feeling a little uncomfortable here.
But on a positive note, Rick, Trump is telling us not to worry because it is a hoax and it is being handled well in America, and to prove it he put Mike Pence in charge of the response. Don’t you feel better now?
You know the answer to that. “Shut up and smile” Pence is having lots of meetings, which will surely keep America safe. It’s just that suddenly it’s so close…
But first, wait until Pence finishes his $25,000 a plate fundraiser.
If you are within six feet of someone who has it and coughs on you, you;re f#cked, So…are they going to have to shut down not only the schools, but the NYC subway system? Ever walk in Midtown Manhattan? Fifth Avenue or the theater district? And their answer is to stop NYC from testing people.
Yes, we are totally screwed,
Let’s hope that’s not the case.
That nursing home in Washington, if it turns out to be the virus, is a bad, bad thing, Anyone with a brain would get it by now that, 1) it is NOT about you, and 2) it is better to be overly cautious and over-prepared and have it turn out to be minor (remember Gerry Ford and the swine flu?) than have it blow up and kill millions because you weren’t prepared at all and only worried about how it made you look and how it affected your re-election campaign. But then, I guess “anyone with a brain” does not include the current inhabitant of the White House.
Naturally not.
The coronavirus outbreak is going to bad. I warned about this outbreak weeks ago on my blog. The US is unprepared for this. A vaccine is a year away.
That is scary … to be so close to an actual case.
Yes, and I’m in the “target group”, male, over 70 with history of respiratory problems (pneumonia and infections, including a mild case last month). So I’m hunkered down and hoping Barbara doesn’t catch it or bring it home, since she’s at 24-Hour Fitness several days a week…
I had forgotten that you had been ill recently. It is good to be careful. Take care of yourself.
Will do.
