We’re not going, but to all of you who are, HAVE FUN!
I’ve been to quite a few Bouchercon conventions, all except one in the West, that exception was the one in Milwaukee. They have all been a blast, but I no longer fly and Dallas is too far to travel, or at least further than I want to go.
I hope to get some con reports from anyone who goes, either as a comment to this post or an email. As to the Bill Crider meet the APA group are doing, if asked I’d simply say “Bill, we sure miss you!”
True. Sad and true.
We got here yesterday and saw several friends and former apa members – Beth, the Teds, Marv and Carol Lachman, Janet Rudolph. Many others are arriving today. The thing so far is how damn cold it is. You don’t expect Texas to be 13 degrees COLDER than New York. Right now, Jackie is at Macy’s, shopping with Beth. I’m in the Hyatt Regency lobby reading.
Yep, it’s cold here too, 31 when we got up this morning. Birdbaths are freezing at night. We’re shutting down the irrigation and outside faucets today.
I don’t fly any more either, Rick. Way too uncomfortable. My first husband was a pilot in the Air Force and we lived in Dallas / Fort Worth briefly while he trained at Carswell AFB (I think), way back in the early 70’s. I remember it was very nice, but don’t remember the time of year. Maybe early fall.
