Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m thankful for so many things, today and everyday.

Today especially, it’s a beautiful Fall day, with some needed rain coming later.

Also, I’m thankful for, among many, many other things:
My wife, my home, my health, all my wonderful friends, both local and in the larger blogging world
Warm clothes, our cat.

Books, and that I can read them. Many, more things! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Oh, and what’s your menu today?

note: no Friday Forgotten post tomorrow…..

  1. With our friend, Cindy, suffering a stroke yesterday Diane and I are hosting Thanksgiving dinner for her family. The turkey is in the oven, I’m peeling the potatoes (that will be mashed), Diane is working on the salad. We also have a cranberry salad and a Sweet Potato/Apple casserole ready to go. Dinner rolls, of course. Gravy. Desserts include pecan pie and apple pie. There’s a rumor coconut and/or banana cream pie might also find its way to our table.

Be thankful if your health is good. So many people are suffering and sick.

    • George, so nice of you to do the hosting, in the face of a terrible event. I said my health, I could list a litany of medical woes, but I wake up each morning, and with the help of various and many medications, I’m doing okay. Gosh, banana cream pie. I’ll bet it’s been 30 years since I had that!

Enjoy, Rick. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Barbara. We’re having turkey breast with gravy, stuffing, roasted potatoes, corn, cranberry jello mold, and sugar free chocolate pudding pie with real whipped cream.

    Tomorrow, the mixture as before.

    • Thanks, Jeff and Jackie. Sounds like a pretty traditional menu. I like the dark meat (thigh, don’t bother with drumsticks), so I’ll have that today, but there’ll be white meat in the sandwiches tomorrow. Yum!

I believe Diane had banana cream pie in Emeril’s in New Orleans, while George took my advice and ordered the fabulous chocolate souffle.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your wife and the new cat. Today we had ham and my son’s special loaded mashed potatoes and cornbread. Pumpkin pie later today. We had rain last night which was a blessing for us but had mixed results in other parts of the state. And a lovely day today.

Thanksgiving grooviness to you two, too.
