She was the fifth cat we’ve lost in the last 8 years. They were all getting on in years when we moved here, all were adult rescues. Belle was about 4 when I got her at Irvine Animal Care (a no-kill shelter).
So sorry, Rick. Pets have a sneaky way of entering our hearts and our lives and somehow making things so much better. After fifteen years, the loss of Belle must have hit you hard.
Over the years our cat Max, we were his third owners, became not just a cat we rescued, but one of my best friends, up with me every morning while the rest of the house slept, always ready to watch/ sleep thru a little hockey. Pets bring so much to our lives their passing is always keenly felt.
I know you’re mourning this sad loss right now but I hope you’ll rescue another kitty. There’s one out there that needs a good home and loving owners and you and Barb fill that bill.
Aww. Sorry to hear that, RIck.

Sorry, Rick. I have never had a pet but I can imagine.
Truly, Patti, it’s very hard to imagine. Pets are family members, and the pain is real and intense. The house is suddenly very, very empty.
We feel your pain. Death sucks.
Thanks. Yes it does.
My condolences on Belle…and your loss.
Thanks, George.
I am so, so sorry, Rick. Our first cat , Bink, was with us from 1997 to 2013. It took us a while to get another cat.
I’m not sure, right now, if we will get another. Too soon to decide.

Yes it is. I…don’t know quite what to do just now, but I’ve gone this before and I will this too.
Hi
Over the years our cat Max, we were his third owners, became not just a cat we rescued, but one of my best friends, up with me every morning while the rest of the house slept, always ready to watch/ sleep thru a little hockey. Pets bring so much to our lives their passing is always keenly felt.
All the best.
Guy
Thank you, Guy. Yes, it’s so true. “Keenly” is just the right word.

Thanks a lot for that, Bob, it means a lot.
