Another storm…

snowIt started snowing at 10:30 this morning. This is supposed to be the 2nd largish storm of the year.

You may recall the last one crippled the city. Now at 3:30 it’s still snowing, we have had an inch, perhaps two so far. Later tonight this will turn to sleety rain, and that will ice us in, likely for a couple of days, as rain follows the sleets and night temps are in the teens.

I think we’ll make a big pot of chili for dinner.

    Hunker down!

  2. So far, predictable results in the NFL Playoffs. Maybe the surprises will happen today. Like Bill advised, hunker down during Bad Weather. I love chili!

  3. Patti Abbott says:

We had chili too. Seems right for this kind of weather.

I could have sworn I commented yesterday.

It snowed here for some 12 hours yesterday. It was also extremely cold. That helped us because the snow was so light and powdery that it just didn’t pile up the way heavy, wet snow does. And the wind blew a lot of it around. The official Central Park total was 5 inches but we probably had about 3 inches here. Still, I’m not moving the car until it gets above freezing on Tuesday. After than it is supposed to be in the 50s for three days, then the 40s (normal high – 39), so we should be OK to get out of here next Sunday, I’m glad we didn’t pick up the new car yet,

    PS – LOVE chili too.

    Mmmm. Chili. Do you deliver/

  6. that freezing rain stuff is nasty. I don’t mind snow so much.

My brother said the roads are treacherous so he is staying in too.

  8. Update: it’s freezing rain now, temp 31 everything is slick as, well, ice on concrete. Or something. Barbara cancelled tomorrow’s quilt group meeting, they wouldn’t be able to get up our hill.

Also, we changed our minds and made a pot of cream of potato soup with leek and bacon. Yummy!

  9. We usually have hot tea and snacks during heavy showers.
