The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories, edited by David Marcum, MX Publishing 2015 hardcover or trade paper
I’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this three volume set of new Sherlock Holmes stories. The books came October 1, the official publication date.
I’d hoped to receive them and start reading, at least the first volume, during my September “Sherlock Holmes Month” but hey, close enough. For a complete description of this set of books, see my previous post on it, HERE.
You might think I’d have gotten tired of reading about Holmes, both canon and pastiche, but that’s not the case. I’m just finishing up His Last Bow now. I’m also reading a couple of other mysteries, and have a science fiction novel lined up, so there is a wealth of good books at hand. But you can be certain I’ll start reading Part I of this collection right away.
At last, the long wait is over! Let the reading commence!
I’ll be eager to read your review of this series.
Nice looking books.
In the introduction, David Marcum says he was greatly influenced by The Mammoth Book of New Sherlock Holmes Adventures, edited by Mike Ashley, which is the very good anthology I recently read and reviewed here on the blog. That one is also set up chronologically. I figure if 90% of the stories in an anthology are enjoyable to me, it’s darn good, and that one was, as I hope this one will be.
