I’ve been having minor computer problems off and on, but it’ been getting worse and yesterday I couldn’t open any webpages or get email on the big iMac. Same today, though the laptop could get some mail.
It’s taken a pain-in-the-neck workaround to get this and the FFB right below out. Until I get this sorted out, I’ll be doing less posting and blog visiting. I hate this!
In case I can’t get a Current Reading post out Monday, here’s that: Still reading short stories, same anthologies, plus the new one shown in New Arrivals a few days ago. Barbara is reading Darkness & Shadows by Andrew Kaufman with another Jo Nesbo to follow.
Wish me luck with damned computer problem. Could be cable box, router, cables… Who knows.
I hate computer problems. Good luck.
I sympathize. Just got mine back last week after a complete wipe and reboot. I was having the same stuff going. Working from my Kindle Fire and tablet helped, but presented their own problems for a geek still figuring them out.
Luck.
Sorry to hear it. Hope you get stuff straightened out soon
Richard, I always thought you folks in America didn’t face computer problems like we do in India. I hope your computer starts working soon.
What Bill said. I always feel totally incompetent – maybe because I am – when I have computer problems. Good luck getting it fixed quickly.
Rick, that’s why there are four computers in this house. When Katie and Patrick visit we go up to six computers. And that doesn’t count my office computer at the College. Hope your problems get fixed soon.
If it’s the offing Comcast box, then nothing will work from the entry point out. What kills me is one day it’s fine, the next day I fire it up and it’s not. WHY?
We’ve had occasional outages with our Time Warner cable, but the problems were fixed fast.
Comcast just always says it’s my computer. They rarely acknowledge there could be a problem on their end. However I have called them and they’re “working on it”. We’ll see. Fingers crossed.
We used to have trouble with Time Warner too. I’ve heard too many horror stories about Comcast. We like Fios. It is particularly good for problems with the television as it troubleshoots the problem and fixes it without us even having to reboot.
They called me back a few minutes ago and said they will re-set the cable box. Should know in 10 or 15 minutes if that’s the fix.
-from the iPad, which for some reason is working sometimes.
Seems to be working, though somewhat slowly. The super fast internet they advertise is a myth. No surprise.
